Aryna Sabalenka

Sabalenka was born in Minsk, the capital of Belarus. Sergey Sabalenka (d. 2019) is her hockey-playing father. Aryna Sabalenka was birthed in Minsk 5 May 1998. Her professional career has seen her win twelve WTA singles titles, which includes the Grand Slam in the Australian Open of 2023. As a doubles specialist she has also won the US Open of 2019 as and her first Australian Open of 2021 with Elise Mertens. She also achieved the Sunshine Double in 2019, by winning in the WTA 1000 at Indian Wells, Miami and the Australian Open with Elise Mertens. The feat only four pairs from women's doubles to achieve. It was only four couples who were able to achieve this feat in women's doubles. The Belarusian rose to the top of the doubles rankings in the next year after taking the title at Melbourne. This made her the only Belarusian tennis player to be successful in tennis. Dmitry Tursunov was her coach in 2018 until her season came to an end in the year 2019. He also coached her for a short time before the year 2020 began. The pair also briefly worked with Dieter Kindlmann in August until September 2020. From the beginning of 2020 she has been coached by her fellow countryman Antonio Dubrov. Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova are her greatest idols.
